Underestimate

I have started to pack my unnecessary items into my suitcase for my travels back home this summer. What I have come to realize is that I have greatly underestimated the amount of useless stuff I seem to have.

I brought with me teaching books I’ve never used or even glanced at. I have so many clothes that I couldn’t really wear in such a conservative country. I have more shoes here than many people own and I am going home to my 30+ old pairs of shoes (if my mom hasn’t thrown them away while I’ve been gone). I trinkets and souvenirs to pack, I have not 1 but 2 Playstations. Old broken junk I can’t seem to get rid of.

I thought I could do it in one suitcase and a carry on but that seems more and more unlikely each day. I’m going to have to cram my suitcase to maximum weight and then pay for a second suitcase. That or I am going to have to donate a lot of clothes. I travel for 5 weeks between Kuwait and Canada so I am going to need something to wear and I don’t want to lug around all my stuff. Maybe I’ll have to mail another suitcase back to Canada when I get to Macedonia.

  1. Purge! Purge! That’s the best part of moving IMO, getting rid of stuff you thought you needed or wanted, but now that you think about it, don’t really want to move it.
