Not My Monkeys

Today was promotion day. I had my hair and make-up done. I had the tall shoes on. I had a parent ask me where I was because they thought I was someone different. I had my principal speaking to me on the phone while she looked at me because she didn’t know it was me until I was right up close.

Now the day it over and I can officially say to my little darlings

Not My Circus, Not My Monkeys

This old Polish proverb has been a constant saying in my teaching career. I love my boys but some days they can be cheeky monkeys that I just want to sell to the circus. I’ll miss them though.
