Planes
Cost of flights is often one or the reasons people don’t travel as often as they could. Flights are the fastest way to get from point A to point B but often the most expensive way too. ![]() When I travel I like to get to an area where I can use budget airlines, like RyanAir or EasyJet in Europe or Air Asia in Asia, when I can’t get around by other means. One way to find cheap flights it to leave yourself open to what day you travel. Many websites like Kayak use a feature that lets you search up to 3 days on either side of a chosen flight date. This gives you the cost of flights for one week and highlight the cheapest and most expensive. Other sites like Skyscanner let you search flights in an entire month time frame. If you don’t have set dates of travel these are very helpful features for saving money. Both Kayak and Skyscanner are sites that search a large number of websites for the best deal but they do not search all airlines. If you know of a local airline it is good to look on their website also. Rome2Rio is a website that searches for multiple modes of transportation including; bus, train, flight, ferries, cab, and other methods of getting to places. I find this is a great way to find how to get from Point A to Point B when I am travelling within a country. It will tell you (about) how much the journey will cost and about how long it will take. Save money by booking an overnight… train, ferry, bus. They may not be the most comfortable but it saves you money because you won’t need to pay for a room that night.
