Philippines
On recommendation from a friend I went to Bohol, Philippines. This was a small quiet island with great people. I took advantage of the beautiful area and the great diving to get my Scuba Diving certification. I had a great time and saw many beautiful things while under the water. I will have to upgrade to a camera capable of diving with me, maybe a GoPro.
I recommend the Philippines to everyone and can’t wait to go back and explore new locations on land and underwater. I loved being able to eat fresh fruit all the time. The cost of everything was relatively low. I stayed at one end of Alona Beach and could take a walk down to the restaurants, bars, and shops. You could get massages and foot scrubs on the beach. You could have all manner of drinks in a nice comfy beach chair. You could take a tour inland and see the Tarsier Monkeys and the Chocolate Hills. I joined a van tour and there were 5 other people who did the day tour with me. We had lunch on a river boat and went zip-lining across the river. There was never a dull moment in the Philippines.
If you want to get your scuba dive certification in the Philippines I loved my time with Sierra Madre Divers and Instructor Raphael. I recommend you contact them and let them help you.
